What is an Offer and how do I add it?

Acknowledge provider offers without recommending; customize visibility and duration.

Some providers offer free or discounted services for new adopters—like a free first exam or a training class. These offers help adopters but may not rise to the level of a full recommendation. Now, shelters can acknowledge provider offers without marking them as recommended.

You can customize how providers appear to adopters by selecting whether you recommend them, add an offer, or do both.


What Offer Types Can I Add?

You can choose from:

  • Free First Exam

  • Free Training Class

  • 50% Off Training

  • Custom Offer (free text)

Offer durations available: 3 Days, 7 Days, 14 days, 30 Days, 60 Days, 90 Days, 6 Months, 1 Year


Provider Status Options

Each provider can be assigned one of the following statuses:

How to Add an Offer

  1. Find the provider in your dashboard.

  2. Click into their provider card.

  3. Under Offers, check the box for “Pick Offer.”

  4. Use the dropdown to select one:

    • Free First Exam

    • Free Training Class

    • 50% Off Training

    • Custom offer (staff entry only)

  5. Choose the Offer Duration (e.g., 30 days, 6 months).

  6. Select whether or not you want to also mark this provider as Recommended.

  7. Click Save.

Your selections will now appear in the Pet Parent App under the provider listing.


🔍 How Offers Appear in the Pet Parent App

  • Offers are shown by category, so if a vet also offers training, both options will appear.

  • If no recommendation is selected, the offer still displays, but without the “Recommended” badge.

  • Training offers appear under the Training category only.


🧹 How to Remove an Offer or Provider

  1. Return to the provider card.

  2. Click Remove.

  3. A warning will appear:
    “Do you want to remove this from your provider list?”

    • Yes: All selected values will reset to blank/default.

    • No: The provider card remains unchanged.


🔁 Reuse and Flexibility

This process works for vets, trainers, and any local provider type in your dashboard. Simply repeat the steps for each category as needed.
