What’s the difference between recommending a provider and adding an offer?

Recommendation = Trusted, Endorsed Provider

When you recommend a provider, you're signaling to pet parents: "We trust this clinic and encourage you to go here." Recommended providers get a heart icon (❤️) and are ranked higher in search results in the Petszel app.

Can’t Recommend?
No problem! If you’re a municipal shelter or unable to officially endorse providers, you can still add Offers like “Free First Exam” without giving them a heart. 

Offers = Available Perks, No Endorsement Required

Some providers offer great incentives like a free first exam—awesome! But if you’re not ready to give them that ❤️, no worries. You can now add an offer only (no recommendation badge), letting adopters know a deal exists without implying a formal endorsement.

Example: You want adopters to know about a 10% off the first month of training, but prefer not to recommend the provider directly? Just add the offer—no heart needed.

Why It Matters: Choice + Access = Better Care

When pet parents don’t see nearby, helpful options, they’ll head straight to Google—which can lead them to less reliable or more expensive care. The more thoughtful, relevant options you show in Petszel, the better the outcomes for pets and adopters alike.
