Enabling Partner Consent Capture & Reporting in ShelterBuddy for Partner Programs

ShelterBuddy supports functionality to capture adopter consent and report on that consent across shelter partners. This enables compliance with partner requirements and improves data visibility for sponsorship or program reporting.

✅ Before You Begin

This functionality is available in Shelter Buddy upon request and may require configuration assistance. Please contact Shelter Buddy Support to confirm it’s enabled for your organization. Here is their documentation for the feature. 

Once enabled, you’ll be able to display custom consent language and track opt-ins during the adoption process.

This enables the software’s adoption process to have a new page for Partner/Sponsor opt-in right before the Adoption Receipts Page:

  • Yes, opt-in: means the client’s information can be shared with that partner via Petszel partner integration.
  • No - do not opt-in: will exclude that client’s information from being shared with that partner via Petszel partner integration
  • No Response: will exclude that client’s information from being shared with that partner via Petszel partner integration

💬 Example Consent Language

Make sure to include your partner's full name, not abbreviations, in the opt-in language. This ensures clarity for adopters and supports accurate reporting.

  • ✔ Correct: Boehringer Ingelheim

  • ✘ Incorrect: BI

The legacy Hill's Opt-in Sponsorship is not supported for partner integration with Petszel.
