How can adopters determine if their pet needs emergency or in-person care?

For true emergencies, we send adopters to the ER.

In cases where a pet is showing signs of a life‑threatening emergency—such as difficulty breathing, uncontrolled bleeding, seizures, collapse, or severe pain—adopters are always advised to seek immediate emergency care. For symptoms like persistent vomiting, diarrhea, limping, or changes in behavior, our teleadvice team helps assess the situation and advises as to whether an ER visit or a scheduled appointment is warranted.
