Managing adopters emails and phone preferences
PetPoint allows you to manage communication consent settings for your adopters. Petszel respects these preferences and uses them to determine whether or not to initiate contact.
Email Preferences
If the “Do Not Contact” box is checked in PetPoint, Petszel will not send any emails to that adopter.
Phone/Text Preferences
If the “Do Not Call” box is checked, Petszel will not send a welcome text or other SMS messages to that adopter.
🐾 These settings are automatically synced during the initial integration and help ensure adopters only receive communication they've consented to.
📝 How to Update Communication Flags in PetPoint
Follow these steps to review or change an adopter’s communication preferences:

Log in to PetPoint with appropriate permissions.

Navigate to the People or Adoption Records section.

Search for the adopter using their name, email, or phone number.

Open the adopter’s record by clicking their name.

Scroll to the Contact Information or Communication Preferences section.

Check or uncheck the following boxes based on the adopter’s preferences:

✅ Do Not Contact – Prevents emails.

✅ Do Not Call – Prevents text messages.

Click Save or Update Record to apply changes.
🔄 Petszel automatically syncs with these fields at the time of adoption connection, so updates before or during an adoption in PetPoint are reflected in the Petszel platform.
